Description
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth(Glucose)
This is a simple, non–invasive, breath test that measures Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) activity. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) is identified to be the cause behind 50-80% of IBS (diarrhea, constipation, gastritis) and contribute to many other symptoms and conditions. Hydrogen and methane breath testing is the best way to identify SIBO status and help determine treatment options.
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when anaerobic fermenting bacteria are present and overgrow in the normally bacterial-less small intestines. This promotes bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, inflammation, nutrient absorption issues and other serious issues.
Neurovanna’s SIBO breath testing assessed for both hydrogen and methane gases. Samples are collected every 20 minutes, over a 3-hr period allowing for assessment of small and large intestine gas activity.
Neurovanna’s exclusive Total SIBO Bacterial Load is included with test results and may provide additional data for diagnosis, management or patient educational purposes.
Studies show that SIBO can also be attributed to:
IBS
IBD
Leaky Gut
Autoimmune conditions such as Hashimoto’s, IBD, Scleroderma, and Celiac Disease
Osteoporosis
Fibromyalgia
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Anemia
Headaches/ Migraines
Carbohydrate Intolerance

All test sales are final. Returns may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with no test refundable 30-days of sale. A $20.00 restocking fee will be assessed for all canceled orders once Neurovanna receives the returned, unused test collection materials. Used collection materials are not returnable.
Neurovanna’s quality control exceeds laboratory equipment manufacture’s recommendations with machinery calibrated after every 2-hrs or 5th test run. Testing performed on a CLIA waived, QuinTron BreathTracker TM Digital MicroLyzer H+. A parallel measurement of carbon dioxide (CO2) is obtained with each sample to allow for greater testing precision. All samples are processed using CO2 correction factor technique that reduces errors and improves interpretation.
Patients with blood sugar control issues may consider using a Lactulose Breath Test.
